EdgeMaker · Terms of Use and License Agreement
Last updated: October 15, 2026
These Terms govern the use of EdgeMaker (the "Software"), a tool for Adobe Illustrator that calculates and draws the return strips, faces and backs of channel letters, published by Cero Stress ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Software you agree to these Terms. You must be 18 years of age or older to accept them.
1. License and subscription
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on up to two computers at a time that you own or control, for your own business or personal use.
EdgeMaker is an automatically renewing subscription, monthly or yearly. By subscribing you authorize our merchant of record (currently Lemon Squeezy) to charge the price shown at checkout (currently US$9.99 per month or US$99 per year, plus applicable taxes) every period until you cancel. Cancel anytime from the panel (License → Cancel subscription), which takes effect immediately, or in the Lemon Squeezy customer portal; if you ask us by email, do so at least 48 hours before your billing date. Once you cancel, you are not charged again and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for (the month or the year). If we change the price, we email you between 7 and 30 days before your next renewal, with the link to cancel.
The subscription includes every update released while it is active. When it ends, the Software stops calculating and drawing strips, faces and backs in the document until a license is active again.
You may release a computer from the panel (License → Release this machine) to activate on another.
2. Trial
The Software may be evaluated for 7 days per computer with a free evaluation key. The key is requested with an email address on our website and delivered by email; entering it unlocks the full panel. The evaluation does not ask for a card and does not turn into a subscription on its own. After 7 days the Software locks until a license is activated. The Software keeps a local record of the evaluation that survives uninstalling, and circumventing it is a breach of these terms.
3. Restrictions
You may not: sell, rent, sublicense or share your license key; reverse engineer or circumvent the license system; remove notices; or use the Software to provide it as a service to third parties. One license key belongs to one person or business.
4. Activation and connectivity
Activation checks the key against our license server, from the installer, from the panel or through cerostress.updater, a small agent installed with the Software that connects even when Illustrator has no internet. A license keeps working for up to seven days offline. Each time the license is confirmed with internet, it counts another seven days; after seven days without a connection, a connection is needed to continue. This check is not a charge: the subscription is billed monthly or yearly, as section 1 says.
5. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights, title and interest in it. Your files and designs are yours; we never receive them.
6. Data
The Software runs locally. The Privacy Policy explains what data it sends for the license and what it never sends (your documents). We do not use your data to train artificial intelligence models.
7. Updates
We may release updates that fix bugs or add features. Updates may change or remove features. If an update removes an essential feature of the Software (for example, calculating the strips or drawing the job), we email you and you may cancel with a refund of the unused part of the month. We are not obliged to support versions older than the current one.
8. Warranty
The Software is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it is error-free or fits every workflow. You are responsible for checking every strip, face, back and cut file before cutting material: the Software calculates lengths with the K factor of each material and machine, estimates time and material and orders the cut, and a mistake in calibration, in setup or in the machine can waste material or damage tools. Calibrate each material and machine with a test strip, and check the preview, the numbers and the drawing before you cut. Nothing in this section limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited (willful misconduct, gross negligence) or the non-waivable rights your country's consumer law gives you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Software is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, wasted material, machine damage or indirect damages. Nothing in this section limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited (willful misconduct, gross negligence) or the non-waivable rights your country's consumer law gives you.
10. Refunds
See the Refund Policy.
11. Termination
We may terminate your license if you breach these Terms. On termination you must stop using the Software. Sections 3, 5, 8, 9 and 12 survive.
If we stop selling EdgeMaker, we email you at least 30 days in advance and you are not charged again.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Panama. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Panama City, unless the law where you live gives you other rights.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is material, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you may cancel before that date and we refund the unused part of the month. Price changes follow section 1.
14. Trademarks
Adobe and Illustrator are either registered trademarks or trademarks of Adobe in the United States and/or other countries. LightBurn is a trademark of its owner. EdgeMaker is an independent product: it is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Adobe or LightBurn.
15. Language
These Terms are published in Spanish and English. If the two versions differ, the Spanish version prevails.
16. Severability
If a court finds any part of these Terms void or unenforceable, that part applies to the extent the law allows and the rest remains in effect.
